I think the logitech dinovo edge is the way to go, I run it with the desktop hooked up to my tv and with my ps3, works great, looks great, and feels great. Not to mention the battery lasts for about a month

I just bought that Logitech thing I was coughing about earlier.

$61.99 at Amazon.

Besides being better looking, it's also BlueTooth.

I'm going to pair it with the HTPC I built running XP and MediaPortal.

@bytepusher metoo at five. Got kinda used to the trackpoint on my old dell lappy. True, i suck more than normal in any game with it and i don't photoshop with it, but in everyday boring internet/officey sorta stuff, i much prefer it to having to move my hands from the keys even with a trackpad. i'll agree a trackpoint takes a bit to get used to, but in the last year i've ended up for various reasons having to deal continually with trackball/mouse/trackpoint/trackpad & tablet and i'd say the trackpad and tablet took the most getting used to.

yeah diskdaddy... i for got about the mini dinovo, i might have to want that. now if it only had a screen and was sideshow capable.

And...why is it LAZY at home when you don't have to get out of your chair but at the office, it's PRODUCTIVE??

@Tony C: I have been using a Dinovo for about 8 months on my PC that's hooked to the TV. It's great.

The new mini Dinovo is probably better. You'll find you don't use the keys all that much. I haven't used it yet, but I'll probably end up getting that for the TV and using the current one on my pc (i love the key-touch it has and it's super thin)

Apple should add the multitouch pad to the new slim aluminum wireless keyboard and sell that. Using a huge 42"+ lcd tv as your monitor with the multitouch technology is one step closer to Minority Report.

As a matte rof fact just sell the multitouch pad as an add on I'll be happy.

i use the logitech keyboard hooked up to my "tv pc" for surfing and email. its great and works perfectly right away. and its a great way to show off to my non-tech friends that my 46" lcd is more than just a tv, its also a monitor! (they are confused)

I've been looking for a good wireless keyboard/mouse setup, and the gyration series seem to give the best distance, but some have encountered unreliability whilst typing, which is something I can't afford.

Why can't some company make really truly GREAT wireless routers and GREAT wireless keyboard setups? Me wants to know....

@Keebler: I'd love to use the Apple Bluetooth Wireless keyboard for my home theater PC (currently a Mac Mini b/c the Shuttle is on the fritz), but no integrated mouse control is a huge ding against it. Unfortunately, I don't have an iPhone.

I tried the Logitech PS3 keyboard and yes, the Brando looks an awful lot like it, but it's also much more like it's been lifted straight out of a generic notebook. While it can squeak by as a Windows keyboard, it doesn't have Windows keys, so it makes it difficult to use with the Mac, where the Apple/Command shortcut keys are sooo much more critical.

I'm going to try the Logitech diNovo Edge and I don't expect any problems using it with the Mini, so I'm not sure what you mean by "Mac-friendly". I don't expect full driver/software support for all of the programmable keys, so maybe that's what you're talking about?

Just found the even newer Logitech dinovo mini. Bluetooth, trackpad and backlight, also looks to be about the size of a DVD case.

@Keebler: Although its not advertised as such, the Logitech Mediaboard Pro (Bluetooth) appears to work fine on a mac based on various forum postings.

Agreed with everyone re: "logitech already did this".... the issue is that nobody's done this in a Mac-friendly manner. You sort of can get around this issue by using a apple bluetooth keyboard and an iPhone with TouchPadPro, but that's only for iPhone owners. It seems like such an obvious product concept, yet very few manufacturers offer one... strange.

This is nothing new... the keyboard I'm typing on right now has a touch-pad, it's a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment 8000 Series keyboard with a built in touch-pad. And it's backlit-

The Logitech Cordless Mediaboard has been out for over a year with the same features - Wireless Keyboard with built in touchpad.

They make two wireless versions, one via USB dongle, the other via Bluetooth (for PS3 compatibility).

The non-bt version sells for less than $50.

one of these days (translation: in my dreams) i'm going to get a nice beaten up leather couch, get a monster of a pc gaming rig, a high def projector, and one of these keyboards.

mind you however i wont actually do anything on the pc. in fact, everything will most of the time be turned off. why? because i'll be too busy...sitting there...looking so f**king cool.

note: this is a cross between my nerdiness, and a gap commercial i saw a while back. so take it all with a grain of salt...a completely insane grain of salt.

They go through all that trouble of squishing the keys together like a laptop keyboard, but then have all that extra plastic around the edges which does nothing but waste space.

I guess the side part is a palm/wrist rest... but still.
