For a regular person, this hacked iphone 2.0 video seems very confusing. Thank God, this won't be necessary in the new 3g iphone thanks to Apple. Because this will definitely save me a headache of finding someone to hack software onto my iphone.

Hope they can have one of these Hacked videos for the new Iphone 3g. I still can't believe that they will be selling it for $199... They must have great cut down on their production costs. I know the profit margin was 50% when the iphone was sold for $399 last year... But as time goes by prices and new technology is available. So im not surprised.

And, In addition to what I just said, although it claims to let you run any app, what apps did he run that I cannot already run on my iPod touch? None.

Am I the only one who is a little skeptical about this?

I mean, what did he do to prove that it really is a hacked firmware? All I saw him do was show changed .png files for calculator (I thought a scientific calculator was promised?), change the icon for iTunes Music Store, and add to a settings pane. All of those things could have been done with a Jailbroken iphone.

If he had actually opened the AppStore (that was what I saw, right?) or at least shown the version (although that can be changed on jailbroken phones as well) I would find it a little more credible.

I'm hoping whomever made this video and hacked the ipod will improve their proof of what they have done. I'm not saying that the person is not credible, or that it isn't hacked, just that I'm not entirely convinced that it really is. If anybody has any reasons that I overlooked that really prove that it is hacked, please let me know.

basketballler77

I think it's more than a fair tradeoff, especially considering that many of the features you "miss" with the iphone will likely get covered in newly written apps, now that the SDK is out there.

And even for people in the US, unlocking the phone lets you travel and buy simcards wherever you go. They're cheap, and then you have a local phone on the road.

glibberthwix
