If will make it more expensive, use more energy and probably won't work that well with an e-ink display.
For me an ebook reader should be basically like the Sony one, but with wifi and cheaper. That's all I want.

There is something to holding and editing a paper with a pen and writing notes. I hate paper, but it is hard to navigate sometimes and take notes on the kindle.

It's a little bit expensive, though, 649€, with the price being left unchanged for other a year now (and apparently, there seem to be quite a lot of software issues, at least according to some users in several ebook forums ...)

It's kind of like an Irex Iliad only with a smaller screen (6 instead of 8 inches). Same wifi touchscreen and file support it sounds like. The nice thing about the Iliad is that with the touchscreen/wacom pen, you can write notes in the margins of your books and pdfs.

I wouldn't want to have to move my hands off the device to tap around, let alone get fingerprints all over the screen of something I'm trying to read. The fact that I can control the entire kindle interface with my right thumb is fantastic and it's extremely fast too. I'm also a big fan of the tactile feedback you get from actually pressing a button. This is the same reason that I don't like touch screen phones, I like to be able to dial while driving without looking and I don't like to have to hold the device in one hand and tap the screen with the other. In any case, I was never really a big reader but I always aspired to be and the Kindle is actually making it happen.
