@justinpe: Hey hey i like apple, i use a mac... i just hate the small things apple do after so much hard work in producing great products. Example: MMS, making any mp3 song as a ringtone and non-crippled blutooth that does file transfer. EVERY phone in the U.K thats £50 or more on "pay as you go" is able to do this.

You read my mind. Archos works pretty well, too. But I like a better computer based solution. MacPro, EyeTV, 40" 1080p LCD TV, Surround sound system, 19" LCD monitor for at the desk/lazy chair, and iPhone for lunch break works for me.

What I'd really want is for the iPhone to be more like the PSP is to the PS3. Where you can access recorded content on your PS3 wirelessly through the PSP.

That coupled with a DVR would be sweet. For either system actually.

@Lupison: Um, my iPhone only has TV Out setting in the iPod menu. So you can connect your iPhone to your TV. I'm not sure where you're seeing TV tuner settings.

A DVR would be a great addition to Apple tv. It seems like they intend it to be a replacement for cable/satellite altogether though.

What I think would be awesome is if the iPhone were a remote control for your tv through Apple tv as well as a touchpad for your comp. Like that hack.

I have noticed since the update from 1.0 to 2.0 my Apple TV has been locking up a lot. Hopefully before going to 3.0 they fix that.
I Have about 850 CD's that were painstakingly ripped to lossless; it's a pain in tha ass when it hangs while coming back from sleep

This device doesn't make sense to me. If you download the content with you laptop, as I do, and you then move the content over to your iPhone or Video iPod, like I do, why would you watch the content on your laptop or connect your laptop to the TV, instead of watching it from your hand-held device? This only makes sense if you want to go over to a friends house and bring the content with you. Very niche.
