Just watched the pug video and that fuck just tucked him down the jump suit. That chest strap across it's belly can take a hell of a load on a hard opening. It'd be like the entire passenger jumpers' weight compressing the dog across the narrow width of the strap. Not nice. Also looks like the dog was pretty close to falling out.

Knew a guy named Wilcox who used to jump with his little dog. Had a nice harness designed out of certified webbing, and of course eye protection for the pooch. No danger of the jumper's weight hurting the dog except for a bad landing. And the dog did seem to enjoy it; he voluntarily jumped into the plane under his own power on subsequent jumps. Course, his owner mostly sit-flew, to keep the dog mostly out of the wind (only rolling dog-side down to deploy).

But that guy's dead now. Luckily, the dog wasn't with him on the fatal skydive. Draw your own conclusions.

The prick couldn't even find the door without help, exit remotely stable, and his STUDENT parachute was HUGE, which leads me to believe he is VERY inexperienced and the distraction of his unwilling passenger would make it all the more likely he'd bust his ass on landing (or even land off-site in trees or other assorted obstacles) further jeopardizing poor kitty.

The mittens were for the protection of the jumpers as they obviously provide no help for the kitty. Eye protection would have been appreciated by kitty I'm sure, as cat eyes are pretty damn exposed. And terminal velocity for a cat thrown off a building is like 25 mph but terminal velocity for a cat strapped to a fat fuck is over 125. Kitties little arms and legs would be seriously stressed in the wind.

Dogs like sticking their heads out car windows, sure, (at 60 mph maybe) but have you ever seen a cat enjoy that? This ass also jumped at altitude; the least he could have done is deployed immediately instead of subjecting the cat to so much additional stress.

I'm more of a dog person, but I'd truly love to kick this fucks' ass. I hope the whole "club" who participated in this get together for a nice group formation and all go in. Each and every one of them.

1) While cats do, indeed, have excellent eyesight, I highly doubt that the cat would be able to tell how far off the ground it was - therefore, how would it know to be afraid? In fact, most animals aren't afraid of something until they are taught to be afraid of it.

2) The slipstream turbulence inside the open door way of the plane is a much more likely cause for the cat's distress - if any, actually - than the cat realizing it was about to go with it's owner (or slave, however you view it) out of the door of the plane.

3) It seems to me, from watching the video quite a few times, and reading the article, that the owner was quite well prepared for his animal's adventure - taking precautions to ensure a safe descent and landing.

Now, would I advocate doing something like this? No, I wouldn't. But...all of the commentators that are calling for death for this guy, or major bodily harm, I would like to point out that this guy isn't the first person to do something with his cat (or any other animal, for that matter) that might be considered dangerous, or on the edge. And I've rarely heard of an animal being seriously harmed. Cats are adventurous by nature, and extremely inquisitive - chances are, he was somewhat scared by intrigued by the experience.

Truth is, all the people saying "poor kitty!" have no clue as to whether the cat was actually terrified or not - they can guess, but it's only a guess.
