This has a nice shape, extra utility as a clock - who's alarm could be attached to any number of internet radio sites... the shape of it is really lovely and convenient too.

They might use something remotely approaching a standardized product, or even have a different controller for the alarm clock than the tablet, but I'd bet otherwise. It's really important that the clock get NTP updates, doncha know?

That said, it would be an interesting product. Other than the case, though, I don't see any component that would resist being built with other tech, if you were devoted enough.
