I'm really concerned that Northwood works at T-Mobile and actually thinks THEY make Blackberry phones. WOW.

@oakie - Where did you get your data on the way T-Mobile customers treat their phones? Is it the same place where you got the notion that a Blackberry couldn't possibly have a camera? (looking at the camera on my Blackberry 8320)

csmith75

@oakie: The curve has a camera on it so does the pearl... so no its not like hoping for a car with an outboard motor.
The reason the 8820 comes without a camera is for people that work in places that are high security and are not allowed to have camera's or camera phone..

zimstyles

@Northwood:
A: T-Mobile doesn't make phones. Asides from a Siemens I had (the entire fucking product line was defective), the phones I've used with them have been very sturdy, one surviving the finest in Japanese auto engineering.
B: Re: the 8820, consider that besides the Pearl and Curve, the Blackberrys have been very enterprise-oriented. A lot of businesses don't want company-issue phones with cameras that could be used to leak out data quickly and quietly. I have a feeling that this will also play a factor in enterprise iPhone adoption (not to threadjack)

ConstyXIV

@Northwood: since when did T-Mobile start making phones?

second, t-mo is a low cost provider, whom which, serve low cost consumers, whom of which usually have the most issues as they tend to bitch and gripe about every little cent and mistreat their hardware.

lastly, expecting a camera on a blackberry is like hoping for a car with an outboard motor... it's a business phone. go get yourself a sidekick.

oakie

@demonspawn2578: everyone knows that t-mobile makes the most unreliable phones. I've been there a month and everyone has a problem. As for that 8820 wow still no camera what a waste

Northwood

I have had the original pearl for 2 years. No problems yet. Remember the pearl is used as a scrolling device not a nutcracker!

I really enjoy the reliability of my Blackberry but I am waiting for about 1 more year to see what the future holds for the cell phone industry before I upgrade my next phone.

Grifter
