Already have a TM BlackBerry 8800... honestly, I could care less about the WiFi, since all it ever did on my old MDA was eat the battery. 8800 is just fine. Now, if TM would actually get a real 3G network together, instead of substandard EDGE...

The Turtle

When you connect to wifi on a t-mobile phone you see the wifi antenna icon on your title bar (at the top) but you dont see the WiFi antenna next to your service meaning you're using the internet but using t-mobile's network.
Now idk if you dont have service and you use voip but there are programs for WM phones that let you use a skype type client or a voip client. Idk about blackberry phones tho.

SneakerFiend

you can still use UMA (wifi calling) even without subscribing to Hotspot @home -- it's just that you're using your minutes over wifi.

if you subscribe to Hotspot @home, you don't use minutes when using wifi.

I have the blackberry curve on T-mobile, and the wifi calling is EXCELLENT. I can't get good cell reception at my house on any carrier, so the WIFI option is great for me.

(search for a David Pogue (NYTIMES), article from Aug. of 2007 for more details on hotspot @ home).

chicagojohn
