Well I went to serveral Best Buy's in the Tampa Bay (Florida) area and ALL had already sent back their HD DVD's to the warehouse.

Now Circuit City this past sunday did a 50% off sale, that matched with price matching from a local walmart that still sells HD DVD's I was able to pick up about 100 HD-DVD movies most of them being less then $15 each some as low as $5.

oddly enough - a lot of the older movies have BETTER hd transfers than newer movies (check out some reviews on blade runner and the "ancient" 2001: a space odyssey) - and, as crazy as it seems, there are plenty of people who dont own every single sd-dvd that has ever been released

for people who have hd-dvd players that havent purchased the entire catalog of sd-dvd movies, why not get those movies youre interested in on hd-dvd format for cheaper than the sd-dvd versions? (and keep in mind, you can still use your hd-dvd player as one of the better upscalers for sd-dvds)

As soon as I saw this I went to Best Buy and they told me they already sent all the HD DVD back to the manufacturer all the shelves where they were are now empty. This is in Tampa, FL So I went to Circuit City, again empty shelves where they were, I asked about it and they said come back Sunday morning for the fire sale of them all so I'm thinking maybe best buy will be doing the same thing.

I went to Walmart also but they are still full price there but said they would match circuit city's price.

The other day my wife and me going to best buy to look for a car radio. We walk by the rows and rows of HD TV. The TV stars on the show looks worst than me. HD TV converts all the sitcom shows to horror TV shows. I think I will hold off buying a HD TV until fountain of youth is found.

$10 isn't all that cheap to me. Most movies make no difference in HD so why bother. Especially with older moves. You would think I someone wanted a movie like 5 years a go they would have in in DVD already and now you want to get them to by another HD copy? Why do you need "30 Year Old Virgin" in HD is beyond me unless it is the same price as the DVD.
Same problem Blu-ray will have.
Also, since HD-DVD is dead why not just sell the lot for their cost to make them disappear?
