I wouldn't feel bad about this at all.
I wouldn't care less to tell you the truth cuz i really dont use any of my electronics everyday at the same time. Unless its sunday or im super duper bored and feel like messing around with everything at the same time.

I was curious, has there ever been any research into how much energy is "wasted" by TV's? I was thinking that TV is essentially a luxury item (well, not for me, my Xbox is a necessity) so it seems somewhat curious that it was never pointed out as an easy way to really "save" the planet.

Based on some simple, and by no means scientific, research with google I found that a 19"tv (no specification in terms of type) uses approx. 1.25 KWh/month of electricity based on an average of 5 hours of viewing a day. Now if you knew how many TV's were in the US you could come up with a ball park figure for how much energy gets used for TV's. It seems to me that if people really wanted to "save" the planet they'd be going after something like this and I didn't even try and include anything based on what it takes to make all the TV's shows and movies we watch.

Just as a postscript, I frankly can't do without my TV's but I just can't believe that no one has gone after what I see as the elephant in the room.

The concept itself is raising awareness, so I give them props for that .. I guess.

The best options for truly saving energy are ones that other countries have been implementing for some time. My favorite is the switch near the front door that turns off power to the entire home (minus essential items, like the fridge) while you are gone. It is a simple yet brilliant idea that makes concepts like this seem a bit silly.

Hey, this gives me an idea - a surge protector with LEDs that grow continually brighter the more power that you're using, or the longer you leave your stuff on. It would make you turn things off after using them simply due to the annoyance factor.
