We're at the advent of Media Center PCs becoming a major part of households. I really don't think it's necessary to have an entirely independant/seperate unit sitting in the middle of my living room. Why can't they make this thing like a giant media center extender/remote/interface for a media center computer? Just give it loads of processing power for its GUI and the innards and have it control and interface with a media center PC. You can pick movies, programming, music and pics without interrupting what's on your TV (a current draw-back for Media Center PCs), play a game, map an address, upload and manipulate pics and video, etc. Just make it work as if it were a client PC. As for the look, not everyone's going to digg the modern lines it has. Why not trim around the screen and make it a drop-in for 3rd-party designers. You could buy an old-world style table with a hole in the center to fit it into and voila! It won't look out of place in your mediterranean living room. Plus, Ikea would have a field day making "MS Surface Sleeve Tables." Do it, people!
