Falling into water can be quite painful - water's like concrete if you hit it fast enough. It lacks sufficient "give". If you really want to try, do a belly-flop off the high-dive board.

This Aquaclimb is located at the Lakefront Park of/in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. It's fun, it's tough, the falls can be dramatic but you are "falling" back into 13' deep water. The only unfortunate thing is it's placement in the diving well has taken one of the 1 meter boards out of service.

The main pool has two 50 sections, with one being over 7' deep and can divided into 25 and 50 meter lanes for races, water polo, etc..

Deep Water Bouldering has been huge for the last few years (out in the real world). This is a playskool version of the real thing. I am not impressed. And the price is just plain scary ridiculous. I could outfit a whole rock gym with all the holds they would need for some time on $8000.

@Polywhirl: @fosho4: It's probably not much more dangerous than the water slides, diving boards, etc. already installed in public pools. If you fall off the thing, you're going to hit the water. I doubt it would tip over; it's likely bolted to the pool deck. Like the diving boards and the water slide, I'm sure the lifeguards would have a "one-or-two at a time" rule.

Having said that, I'd hate to see one of these at my local pool. My weak-ass upper body barely has the strength to pull me up onto the deck, let alone into the air!

Actually they have something similar in a public bath here in Norway where I come from, and last time I checked it has not caused any deaths yet. Might have been some small injuries, but that's just a good learning experience!

Even though it looks totally awesome, I have a feeling it's too dangerous to be considered a viable option for public pools.
And by that, I mean if it tips over, somebody dies.
And I'm pretty sure public pools are the market for this.
Because if you've got 8k to blow on a rock climbing wall for your private pool, screw you.
