It will work terribly. Microwaves have a reflective blade on the top that deflect the beam and tries to scatter it as much as possible. There are often still hot spots tho. Having a rotating platter helps this but still... On this thing, how is it going evenly heat the hotdog?

Clicking through to the original links, it turns out this thing is actually conceived as a baguette warmer for use in pubs (and thus the name "Bagetty"). Still, it is nice to know that if it is large enough to take in loaves of french bread, then even the most generously-proportioned tube meats would fit without cramping. Hate when that happens.
