Better hurry up before I lap you. After taking mine to one MichLUG meeting and two public displays, I'm already itching to dismantle each individual section and rebuild it (should go a lot faster this time, as I won't have to hunt for parts amongst the ~80 part bags), but this time I want to beef up the superstructure in key places. Particularly, I find that the ventral hull has design problems. There are three main sections that are mounted studs-up by just snapping them onto the underside of the superstructure, where in reality they should have some sort of hangers because a couple dozen studs aren't enough to carry the weight long-term (and especially not when it's moving at freeway speeds in a car). I also changed a few aspects of the dorsal hull almost immediately, lowering the dorsal gun pit one plate height and filling in some of the more unpleasant gaps with my horde of extra 2x4 wings because I just couldn't stand the look of a ~1/4" gap ringing the gun pit.

Hey, one of the guys in our club figured out how to make minifig-scale LEGO cars drive around a section of layout with no obvious means of control (i.e. they aren't train motor bogeys disguised as automobiles with the track tiled over to look like a road surface). There's another guy who designed LEGO cows that will "watch" LEGO trains pass by (as the train goes past, they will swing their heads from one side to the other). There's another club that has a motorized King Kong atop a compressed minifig scale Empire State Building. Just because they're plastic bricks doesn't mean you can't mechanize them. There are dozens of different official LEGO motor bricks, at least five "smart" bricks (usually found in the Mindstorms line), a bunch of sensors, and all kinds of gears and gear-related items. The two biggest limitations in anything you could choose to make are your imagination and your wallet.

That's not how it works. A 6:1 scale model means that for every 1" in the original source, the scale model measures 6". Size, however, is measured by volume, which incorporates all three dimensions unless it's a scale replica of a flat image. If you wanted to make a 2:1 scale model of a Fort Knox brick of gold, you'd still have to buy the equivalent of eight bricks of gold to make it, not just two.

I LOVE lego castle, but this looks like a Lego Castle set mated with a Lego Duplo set or Lego City Set.

Its just sad. Lego castle has a much darker look these days, and is just a poor tribute to it.

Well I have to totally disagree with that logic. A 6:1 scale model is by definition 6x bigger than the original. (Now if you said the volume was 216x bigger then you'd be right but I really don't think that's what people mean when they say something is 6x bigger)

It isn't six times bigger is is 6^3 times bigger. It is a 6:1 scaled model, but that means that each dimension grows by 6x, which in three space comes out to this set being 216 times bigger than the original.
