If anyone is curious, I won the competition. These competitions are actually beneficial to all concerned. My reasons were to develop a new design to expand my portfolio, practice my design skills & 3D software, fill some time between projects and, if I won, receive some valuable recognition, cash, and valuable networking with a cool new potential client.

A phone that's a phone, Innovation of the year.

Can I get my 1/4 of a phone now?

Really, I don't need a camera/internet/thermometer on my phone, because it's a fucking phone.

If I need a camera, I use my camera, if I need internet I use the PC, if I need a thermometer, I'll get my goddamn infrared Thermometer. I don't need all that extra fancy stuff on it, all that does is waste the accumulator.

I think this is pretty cool that the company is trying to get the public involved with their devices. Even though it is nothing more than clever marketing, it made me think about LG in a positive light -

They don't send you the phone that you submitted to the design contest, they send you an LG phone worth about $200, basically you submit the design and they send you back some low-end phone that you could probably get for free with a 2 year contract somewhere...
