I'll stick with my original XBOX - best media extender currently available (XBMC). Someone needs to release a $99 media extender that duplicates the XBMC functionality - it would totally dominate this market.

ralphkaz

There are also video redo scripts to batch convert (not even really a conversion though as it's all mpeg2) to dvr-ms for use with MyMovies on extenders. All kludges, for sure, but some options you can try.

werk

The biggest problem, if you want to call it that, with extenders is that they do not play .VOB files. So I still think the best "extender" is still a non-extender, full-fledged media PC. If Microsoft were ever to enable .VOB (or .mkv!) playback on extenders, I'd be out in the street singing "our ecosystem rocks."

scarbrtj
