This is the stupidest thing i have EVER heard. Any USB mouse will work on a macintosh and I'm pretty sure (not totally positive) that the default macintosh mouse drivers will recognize most if not all of the buttons. The ONLY difference between this and the PC version would be the drivers they send. The idea of releasing a mouse specifically for Mac is just... its just stupid. Make the driver a free download on your website... or *gasp* include them on the driver disk along side the windows drivers. A mouse is a mouse is a mouse. I've rocked various mice on my ibook and they all work without a problem. But i suppose i could just be lucky.

Only downside is you need the software to run at boot (then you can close it if necessary).

This "Death Adder" is one of the better looking mice I have seen. The only thing that kills it for me is the logo (too big, or shouldn't be there at all). And it doesn't seem to come in white.

Photoshop is more fun on a Mac...what? Ahaha, I'll agree that Photoshop is optimized for OSX performance wise, but using both I really can't pinpoint which I had more fun with... in fact, they seemed as though they were the same program to me. I'm more used to the PC version (often find myself still Ctrl-C and Ving to no prevail tsk tsk), but I don't hold that against the Mac OSX version since it is based solely on personal experience. Of course, personally I'd sacrifice any performance stipulations just to have everything on one system (which, yes, would be Windows XP, the OS I use most.) I understand the implications in that of course, but I personally found it more efficient. As far as other people go, not all persons will be interested in doing the same activities as me so OSX might be more valuable.

Overall, an OS depends solely on our own production or needs. I would never call OSX just a pretty OS with no features, but certainly for me, I have no particular cause to bring myself to depend upon it.

If Apple decided to release a "normal" 2 button mouse [as opposed to its current one button touch sensitive mouse] I guarantee you I would have to spend at least another hour a week on the phone explaining to the 150 year olds how to left-click. So please, don't complain about when you can buy one for $15.

Apple gaming wouldn't suck so bad if games were actually made for it. It's like me advertising off road tires for hondas and exclaiming that they work fine on my truck [so the problem must be with you!]

Hey! I've been using a DeathAdder right now on my Mac for a few months now.

Oh wait, I see - they turned off the nasty "blue light" by default in the mac version. This is controlled by the driver in the PC.

It should just be a driver update, not sure why they're calling this a new product.

Gaming on a laptop is the same as gaming on a Mac with bootcamp, you're still limited by hardware severely simply because of the design. (One reason why I never understood gaming on a laptop. The second being that I really don't think I could get into a decent system hogging epic game while on the go... but hey, something is better than nothing.) Even with new hardware, you'd pay the cost of a Mac plus the cost of the hardware which would be less cost efficient than just building a computer which would inevitably run it faster and could be Hackintosh'd.

two things:
1) are lefty gamers that rare?
2) I spent a lot on upgrades to my mac pro to be able to play all the games I was told I was missing out on. played crysis (bootcamp) for a bit, now I just play my consoles. PC gaming sucks, yes even on widoze.

A mouse with higher sensitivity is nice for gaming and even some apps. where you want a mouse to track accurately and smoothly.

So yes, better mice do make a noticeable difference. Now going from 1800 dpi to 2000 dpi probably isn't going to feel much different, but a standard 600 dpi to 1200 or so is very noticeable.

What do I use it for? It looks like there are two mouse buttons on the side of the mouse too... The extra buttons probably just bring up context sensitive help for the "left" mouse button.

Anything worth doing with a mouse can be done with one mouse button.

So, what makes this different from a regular Death Adder? I've been using a Logitech G5 for over a year now. You can use pretty much any USB mouse with a mac. Also, Mac's have had multi-button mice for a couple of years as standard. It's called the Mighty Mouse, and it doesn't look like it's multi-button but it is.

I remember back when I was in like 7th grade, there was this one guy I knew who had a Mac, and he had this surgery game where you were a doctor and had to remove somebody's appendix. It was intriguing at the time, but I was never able to avoid killing the patient. Perhaps this mouse could have helped me save lives.

That's the only game I've ever seen on a Mac.
