Regardless, any humidity is going to make an ice pack sweat, so there is a limit to how cold to go with this sort of water cooling. To avoid leaks, a better route to go is probably a hot/cold gel pack for about the same price.

I bought a wire mesh serving tray from the clearance rack in Bed,Bath and Beyond for $1.99...it's about 2 inches wider than my 17" laptop,and the legs are about 2" high...I can set it on the bed (or my lap) and get perfect air flow. I think Ikea sells the same one for $4.99,it looks like the wire mesh wastebasket and desk set they sell.
