And it does upscaling!

As for it not being 1080p, you really won't notice unless you're watching on a large screen, say 42" or better.

Either way, with the low cost of HDD and the relatively low cost of this device it is a pretty good deal. Plus the small size of this thing would make it great for taking your movies with you on trips or just over to a friends to watch.
