the movie's excellent, the castings perfect and it just clicks in all the right areas. batman may be cool but Tony Stark really is the daddy when it comes to brains, class, pretty much everything.

With that being said, Batman, definately batman. First off batman can do all the stuff iron man can do (kick ass, fly around, fight super villans, ect...) except he's so awesome all he needs is a bat cable, a glider-cape and a set of tights. I mean serioulsy, batman is a human weapon while stark is just some jackass in a metal suit. Anybody who had the suit would be iron man, but it'd take a whole lifetime of training to be a batman.

Also batman develops a lot of his own stuff (sans batmobile) don't go by the movies!

And lastly, bruce wayne seems to be a decent human being, while stark, as the other's have pointed out, is a total ass! He's like Dick Cheney in a gigantor suit these days!

Plus his lifestyle isn't all that appealing once you get past the surface. Reminds me of charlie sheen.... it was cute when he was young,but now he's old and sad and alone.

On the other hand, bruce has a family (a seriously screwed up one but still) and a mission to give his life meaning. And catwoman, don't forget catwoman.

But Tony Stark can only build things..Batman figures a lot of stuff out on the fly, and not just technical stuff. His whole MO is to beat his opponents by playing to their weaknesses/trapping them (see: superman, preadator)...Iron Man just uses brute force.

Let me first say that I am neither a Batman or Iron Man fan. I've never read either one of them, but have watched the movies. I am going to base my opinion entirely on what I have read in this thread.

First, the question is "Who kicks more Ass?" and not "Who would win in a fight?"
Winner - Batman
Reason - That's all he does and he's been doing it longer.

Second, if it did come down to a fight between the two who is more likely to win?
Winner - Iron Man
Reason - It's not that Batman couldn't win against Iron Man, but what is likely more so than not. Reading the thread most Batman fans said that his greatest strengh was his intelligence, problem solving, and adaptabity. The ability to find a way and overcome a stronger opponate. However the Iron Man fans said that their guy has the same traits. So they are both smart and think quick on their feet. So that's a draw. Both have basically unlimited resources. Another draw. Batman though, is a superior conditioned athlete and fighter. Iron Man, not so much. Point for Batman. Iron Man wears somekind of super mechanized armor that can take a direct hit from a tank and keep on going. Batman, not so much. Point for Iron Man. When it comes down to it it's a very simple formula. Who can hurt the other more than the other can hurt him and the answer has to be Iron Man.

Again, I'm going by what was written in this thread as a guide and not whether it is possible for one to beat the other, but who is more likely to win more over a number of different encounters.

Plus, Stark has missiles and actual guns on his suit, while batman has... well, a metal wire.

Don't forget that Stark can go supersonic.. unlike Batman who is dead meat if there isn't anything to hang on during his FALL.

And Stark can just have tons of chicks having sex on his bed while he's drinking Margaritas, unlike someone else crying and whining about their past in their cave.

As for the going to daddy's company remark, who started StarkIndustries other than Tony Stark's Father. Bruce Wayne traveled across the world to become what he is. Tony Stark threw on a couple of spark plugs and an iMac into a gold plated suit and now thinks he's a hero.

Did anyone read Civil War? Iron-Man's true colours were revealed in that series (if you didn't read his stand alone issues). Iron-man is one of the better Marvel characters and I do enjoy reading about him, and the moive was pretty exceptional, but overall, batman gives you a better sense of danger, suspense, and action in both the comic universe, and the new movie universe (I consider them different).

Batman > Iron-man Hands down.

Batman. I like the guy. I loved the first 2 movies directed by Tim Burton with Michael Keaton as Batman.
But I hated everything else up to Batman Begins.

And even Batman Begins... I liked it, but is wasn't what all the hype that surrounded it promised. At least to me. It was great because they finally got the character right again (no nipply-pedophile-directed-for-children content).

But something was lacking. I guess something only Tim Burton could bring back.

And I'm a big fan of Christian Bale.

Now, Iron Man. It was even more hyped than Batman Begins.
And IMHO, IT DELIVERED.
Which is even more impressive given that Iron Man isn't even that much popular... or at least, way less popular than Batman.
And Robert Downey Jr. was a perfect match, even if I didn't picture him as Tony Stark.
And the movie didn't appeal to the tormented soul bs we have to take from almost all heroes or anti-heroes.

And he wasn't poor, he wasn't modest, he wasn't humble. And he didn't sew his costume filled with hatred and moral lessons... he did it while having FUN!

You know, it's not that I don't like Batman, and won't like The Dark Knight (even though I'd like it to be an adaptation to the graphic novel)... but let's not compare it to Iron Man, shall we? Doesn't stand a chance in my personal opinion, of course.

I think even in a Spontaneous Fight, Batman would be smart enough to know when to cut+run, and then go regroup.

Batman has miles and miles of training. Ironman has much less.

The highest rated Batman (on Yahoo Movies) was B+ for Batman Begins, which I think is pretty generous. And Batman has had many chances at a good movie.

Iron Man has only had one chance and already scored an A- on Yahoo. So movie-wise, Iron Man is tops.

I saw Iron Man Saturday and I'd agree it was better than any of the Batman movies.

Batman beats Ironman for all the reasons previously stated: hes a badass, hes clever, etc. He would find a way to win. Besides, Ironman is nothing without his suit. He's too dependant on it. And realistically, something that complicated is bound to fail sooner or later (more likely sooner), oh AND that nifty little fusion core in his chest? fusion = hot = melted Tony Stark. Batmans tricks are allot more reasonable and even without them, hes still a badass and could beat anyone. The point is, Tony needs his crutch to win, Batman just wins regardless. I cite the IGN article/thread/whatever in which Batman beat EVERY single villian and superhero, the ENTIRE Imperial Army AND the Sun. Why? because hes the best. Ironman was lucky to get his own movie.

The only person that can hold a candle to Batman is Darth Maul, and hes dead so too bad.

On top of that, Iron Man is powerful enough to be exciting, but limited enough to be worth watching. How can anybody get excited about the Hulk when you already know he's indestructible and infinitely strong? (Prediction: Thor is going to suck, because he's too powerful to make for an interesting story and his powers aren't interesting to watch).

Of all the heroes in the Marvel pantheon, its hard to think of one better suited to a movie rather than a comic than Iron Man.

If Tony didn't have the extremis virus within him, he never would have tussled with Spiderman on almost equal footing as he did.

It's been a while since I read the Batman vs. Spawn issues, but for some reason, and I'll have to look it up when I get home, Spawn went to use his powers and nothing happened. As for better fighter, I'd go with Spawn (though he gets dependent on his powers too often, which is a crutch for him).

I just don't buy in the top 1% of everything: athleticism, intelligence, and resources. Superpowers or not, he's gotta have something he's not good at...being a dickhead isn't a weakness either.

Superman got his ass kicked by a rock. Batman was already wearing a suit that increased his strength and he was able to both blanket the sun to weaken Superman's powers AND hit him with kryptonite. Batman doesn't need superhuman powers to kick your ass... he kicks your ass because he's better trained and smarter than you.

It's been awhile since I've read the Spawn comic... I just remember Batman being a better fighter... I don't recall what happened to Spawn's powers or anything.

It's the length of the fight (we're talking KICKING ass here, not any of the other uses). Somebody said Batman was a trained ninja. If he makes the first attack, he wins. But Iron Man is capable of picking up the WayneCorp Tower and hitting Batman over the head with it.

If it goes into the long run, I'd vote Batman. He's a lot better at researching, finding weaknesses, and exploiting them.

Wrong, turns out the car is empty Bat's already in Tony's Mansion, hacking his computer disabeling Tony's Armor remotely, therefore taking total control over it.

Bats ain't that stupid, knowing full well he can't physically match Tony in strength. Bats is always prepared, probably have a eletromagnetic pulse granade thingy to disable Tony's armor, or even built a suit on his own (The Batman cartoon).

And for some who have no knowledge of who Batman is, he doesn't kill, it's about justice not revenge, despite of the many errors in the movies (especially the Burton movies). The true Batman (comics and The Animated series) never takes anyone's life.

However, let's compare motivation. Batman gets kudos for being a good guy right along, while Ironman started out essentially a villain, and needed to come around after a traumatic event. Ironman, however, had farther to go and less time to do it in, so he gets bonus points there.

Tony Stark is essentially a playboy, and a geek all at once, making him a bit of a rare breed. Bruce Wayne is not really either, but rather a businessman with a conscience, making him also a rare breed.

Prior to his traumatic event, Stark was totally shameless. Wayne was never like that.

Stark gets extra points for being part cyborg (his heart). Now why he didn't just use a permanent magnet, rather than an electromagnet, I don't know, but we all know that the device in his chest is a plot device (ba dum bum).

Stark doesn't hide his identity. Apparently, he doesn't care who knows he is Ironman. That's kind of gutsy, and, as far as I know, more or less unique amongst superheroes.

I think I vote for Ironman.
