Though the screen resolution and size takes a hit, dropping to 4.3-inches and a 720p resolution, the rest of the Sony flagship’s specs have pretty much survived in tact. In other words, there’s still the speedy quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor onboard, backed by 2GB of RAM, as well as the 20.1MP G Lens camera system.
For the time being, Sony only have the Z1F pencilled in for a Japanese launch, due in December. But given the growing popularity of the Xperia line globally, and the trend for pushing out “Mini” versions of flagships that seems to be working reasonably well for HTC and Samsung, I’d bet a good chunk of cash on a wider release to be announced before too long.
