Apple ups the ante again, with an entirely new PowerBook G4 with a 17-inch screen. That's right. It's 17 inches wide, with a resolution of 1440x900 pixels, making it the largest display ever on a laptop. To sweeten the deal, the new G4 also has a backlit keyboard with an ambient light sensor that adjusts keyboard and screen brightness based on how bright it is in the surrounding area. Plust it has a DVD-R/CD-RW drive, Bluetooth, a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, FireWire 800 (which is twice as fast as regular FireWire), and comes with built-in AirPort Extreme, which uses the much faster 802.11g wireless Internet standard. And it's still just 1-inch thick.
