Over at No Good For Me, our new favorite weblog, Kat asks,
Why not garments that extend even further into the space around you, protecting the body from the intrusions in that space? I'm thinking of those crowded subway rides when I lived in New York; how about an inflatable coat that would give you a little cushioning for when you are stuck standing and rattling against everyone in your vicinity? (Also, this would be good to keep the stinky old perverts who like to press against women on the train at bay.)
This might be the next best thing: the No-Contact Jacket, a women's coat that's embedded with special connective fibers that can deliver a non-lethal shock to anyone who tries to get a little too friendly. Sounds like something you might not want to wear in the rain.
