Let me just go ahead and get this clunker out of the way: the KitchenAid Briva Dishwasher is everything and the kitchen sink. That's right, I said it.

But for real, this thing is awesome. It functions as a regular sink when not in use (or a cutting board if you fold it down), or can wash up to five plates plus sundries at a time, with an LED display, reconfigurable tines, and "whisper quiet" operation. You can even outfit it with a garbage disposal, meaning you hardly have to rinse off your dishes before washing at all.

You might think $1,800 for a dishwasher than can only wash five plates a cycle is a stupid idea, but you aren't typing in your "office" seven feet from your sink.
