The high-end coffee maker Illy unveiled a new espresso machine, the X6 Trio, this weekend in Milan. The bellissimo concentric circle design allows for making long, normal or strong shots with just a twist of the handle into different positions. There is an electronic control system on the inside outfitted with bronze valves and plastic tubing that all-but guarantees the correct pressure. The boiler itself is made of brass for thermal stability. Making perfect crema should be a bit easier now. I am very much looking forward to the coffee hacks that are supposedly going to be featured in the next issue of Make.

The X6 Trio will be available stateside in October for around $375.
