BenQ's PE8720 projector seems to be making home theatre buffs superhappy by being quiet. Using L-shaped inlet tunnels and fans on the side of the box, you'll be get an incredibly low noise level of 23 decibels coming from the machine (most projectors run at 28 decibels), especially good for those exciting independent films which tend to rely on a good amount of dialogue.

BenQ also says that the PE8720 has a contrast ratio of 10,000:1, which it believes to be the highest ever. Though as others have pointed out, doesn't the Sony's VPL-VW100 come in at 15,000:1? With a HDMI socket, there'll be no problem with HD broadcasts, but man, could someone please get cracking at making these things look better? Sells for around $12,000.
