The Mac mini has always been the center of DVR attention since it was released. The size is perfect, it's a Mac, and with the new Front Row software, it seems to be a match made in heaven. Now sources are confident the system will be ready for rollout at Macworld Expo San Francisco complete with Intel inside, thus making the mini the first Apple product to make the step to Intel. This newest Mac mini, code-named Kaleidoscope, will feature an Intel processor and include both Front Row 2.0 and TiVo-like DVR functionality as well. I wouldn't exactly hold my breath for this new Mac mini to be released so soon, but it's certainly do-able in 2006 and a later release date would ensure that the new mini wouldn't be rushed.
