The guys in charge of the DVD+RW standard have finally approved a dual-layer version of the rewritable DVD discs. The spec was ratified last week, but no official announcement has been made from the DVD+RW Alliance as of yet. Just like the write-once discs, these will support up to 8.5GB of data. Finally, you can back up the home movies you made of your kids soccer matches and be able to erase them in a few years when they move to the city to go to a small liberal arts college.
