Looks like it's Panasonic day today, where the company released five digital cameras on the same day. The fanciest one to roll out is the Lumix DMC-FZ50, a 10.1-megapixel ultra-zoom camera with what has become nearly standard on cameras as this category, a 12x zoom.
Of course, to go along with that big ol' zoom is Panasonic's Mega OIS (optical image stabilization), and the camera has a intelligent ISO control that adjusts shutter speed according to how fast the subject is moving in the frame. There's a smallish 2-inch LCD view screen that flips out 180 degrees, as well as a .44-inch electronic viewfinder in the eyepiece. The FZ50 is set to ship in September for $649.
