Panasonic rolled out three sleek-and-slim additions to its FX line, with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX50 ($399, pictured here) and Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX07 ($349) leading the way, each packing 7.2 megapixels, with their little brother, the DMC-FX3 ($279), sporting 6 megapixels. All have Leica lenses, with the FX50 and FX07 using a 3.6x zoom with a 35mm equivalent 28-102mm focal length. The lower-cost FX3 has a 3x optical zoom.
In this trio of cameras, the FX50 is the obvious prime choice, where spending the extra 50 bucks will get you a 3-inch LCD viewscreen rather than the 2.5-inch screen of the two lesser models. The higher-end FX50 and lower-end FX3 will be available in either silver or black, while the mid-range FX07 will be offered in silver, black, red, or blue. All are set to ship in September.
