No, that's not a typo, Samsung's 40-inch LCD has LED technology. The LEDs are there for backlighting, and the technology got Samsung an "Innovation Award" from the European Image and Sound Association. The LEDs make the colors richer and is "46% improved" compared to previous models.

The LCD itself has a 100Hz refresh rate, sticking extra frames into the image so there's less motion blur. The extra frame gets produced as a result of detailed motion estimation and compensation, which just means they're taking the difference between two frames and placing an extra one in there to make things smoother.

No pricing yet, but you can probably expect it to be more expensive than current Samsung 40-inchers.
