Viewsonic is showing off a projector that tries to separate itself from the rest of the pack by incorporating an iPod dock. The PJ258D, which should hit stores on January 15 for a cool $999, isn't going to win any "my resolution is bigger than your resolution" contests as it only goes up to 1024x768. Viewsonic must be banking on the fact that people will be using the projector exclusively for iPod video, which isn't exactly the best video quality to begin with. We like the iPod integration, but for around the same price you can go all the way up to 720p. A for effort, Viewsonic.
