According to the most reliable polling service in the world — Beck's beer — Bill Gates is closer to CES nerds' hearts than Steve Jobs. The survey results claim that "while Apple claims to be revolutionizing the personal computer and digital music, 55% of CES attendees still think Microsoft's Bill Gates leads the way as the most influential cultural icon compared to Apple's Steve Jobs."
Not that I don't trust the results of a poll that was probably administered while drunk, but something tells me that doing the poll while a large chunk of tech journalists were off at MacWorld might have skewed the results just a smidge. And hey, who says this is a competition? Jobs and Gates are both winners in my book.
