Milan has terrible air quality. Some of the worst in all of Italy. So architect and developer Stefano Boeli dreamed up away to combat that issue in a practical manner: He's turning two residential towers into vertical forests.
Dubbed Bosco Verticale, The Creators Project says the structures will provide a home to more than 900 plants and trees which would normally occupy 10,000 square feet of ground in a natural setting. The plants will absorb dust and carbon dioxide, provide oxygen, and shield buildings from noise and heat.

How about roots? Most of the trees around me like nothing better than to destroy the concrete sidewalks. And what happens when one of these trees dies? You probably cant get your run of the mill tree removal service to take it down, let alone the cost to remove it from that height. And pray it doesnt fall on its own!
