In a recent interview, Bill Gates said these fine things about DRM:

- "DRM is not where it should be"
- "causes too much pain for legitmate buyers"
- "huge problems"
- "People should just buy a cd and rip it. You are legal then."

Bill doesn't like DRM but his company is one of the major purveyors of that filth? That's like a porn producer saying he's against exploiting women. If you needed any other proof, now you know. When Bill Gates' lips are moving he is lying.

Wow, that's the one of the dumbest things I've ever read in the comments forums here on the Giz. What examples of DRM that Microsoft created can you cite? Music and Video related DRM supported by MS are required by the music and movie industry, or they don't play ball with you (same goes for Apple).

A licensed copy of your OS is not the same thing. If you believe it is, then you seriously need to get a grip and do some reading.

As for your comment about porn, and exploitation of women, that was either a cheap shot to make yourself seem holier-than-thou, or you really are blind to social and cultural issues. It's those kind of ignorant blanket statements that just prove how clueless people really are.
