I'm not sure how many of you were awake for our play-by-play of ifixit's iPhone 3G teardown this morning—there are some really fantastic pictures if you missed it—but the big news that came out of the dissection was that the iPhone's battery is no longer soldered in. So in other words, the battery will be far easier to replace than it used to be, even though it still requires prying the thing open. That's pretty good news for the DIY types, and basically useless information for the rest of us. You're welcome! [gizmodo]
