Verizon's begun a trial of their new Home Phone Connect service, which unifies your landline phone with their wireless network. From there, it'll be treated like any other phone on your family's plan—and eat the same minutes.
Home Phone Connect, which relays Verizon's signal to your handset via a base station, will cost you $10 a month if you want the landline and your other wireless devices to share the same minutes pool, or $20 a month for unlimited domestic calling. The trial is currently confined to New York and Connecticut—no word on Verizon's future plans for the service. [Verizon via Engadget]
