Origin's been one of the craziest overclocking outfits around for a while now, but its laptops haven't been really, let's say, aesthetically pleasing. Its latest rigs got the Ricky Lake makeover treatment, though, but not at the cost of raw asskicking power: they still clock in at a ridiculous 4.5GHz.
Origin completely redesigned its cases to be more angular, instead of the flat slabs of metal that they used to be. The Eon laptops come in 15- and 17-inch models, black and gray, and glossy and matte finishes. The new models still aren't as easy on the eyes as, say, Alienware. But Origin seems to be taking some visual cues from its old stomping ground, which isn't the worst thing.
It also refreshed its custom desktops line to include the new Phase Change cooling system, which allows the Genesis desktop to get up to 5.7GHz overclocked. Totally nuts. Desktops with Phase Change systems will ship in Q1. [Origin PC]
Origin's also offering free 24/7 lifetime US-based tech support on any purchase, which is pretty great, and maybe enough to consider selling your house and a few of your children to pay for one of these rigs.
