The first Iron Man 3 trailer is here! And if the movie is half as good as this, you will be cheering in the movie theater with Avengers-level joy. Just look at Ben Kingsley playing The Mandarin, Tony Stark's next nemesis and a classic supervillain in the Marvel universe. It's a sight to behold.

"Nothing's been the same since New York [talking about the events in Avengers]", Stark says.

"Heroes. There's no such thing," says the Mandarin.

And then exquisite mayhem everywhere.

Here's the official plot, from Marvel:

In Marvel's "Iron Man 3", brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr., is pitted against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

[Sounds like a Batman situation.]

Iron Man 3 continues the epic adventures of "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2", starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley [as the Mandarin], "Iron Man 3" is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black and is based on Marvel's iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of "Tales of Suspense" (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with "The Invincible Iron Man" (#1) in May of 1968.

If you are not an old comic book nerd like me, you will probably not be interested in knowing that the Mandarin appeared for the first time in Tales of Suspense #50, in February 1964, written by Stan "The Man" Lee and designed by the legendary Don Heck. I know. It's more information that you will ever need, but he has always been a favorite of mine. A classic Iron Man enemy.

This is going to rock so hard it doesn't need an AC/DC soundtrack. The movie comes out on May 3, 2013 in the USA. The rest of the world will have to wait a little bit more. It seems that is going to come out in April in the UK, though.

Ben Kingsley: awesome as the Mandarin.

Tony facing... who the hell is in that suit, if anyone?

Looks like Pepper Potts is puzzled too, since Tony is sleeping next to her.

Oh look, it's Guy Pearce playing cray scientist Aldrich Killian, another Marvel character.

And Don Cheadle is back as Rhodes/War Machine, with Iron Patriot-ish colors. No, Norman Osborn doesn't appear in this movie.

Looks like Tony is going to suffer in this one.
