If news that Arrested Development was going to get 10 brand new episodes didn't make you want to celebrate by doing the chicken dance, how about this: Netflix is expanding its order of episodes for Season 4. Now there'll be anywhere from 12-15 new Arrested Development episodes as opposed to 10. HOORAY!
Deadline reports that series creator Mitch Hurwitz shot more footage than initially planned and approached Netflix to add more episodes. Netflix gave Hurwitz a go and Season 4 will now include a total of 12-15 episodes (which will all premiere at once like other Netflix shows). Even with the added new episodes, the full season is still expected to have a spring release date on Netflix. Netflix said:
"We are thrilled with the direction of the show, with the footage we have seen and with the relationship between Mitch, Imagine, 20th and Netflix. At this time, we are not confirming or announcing the final episode count but we are sure fans will be thrilled when we do."
What wonderful news. [Deadline]
