What might be a realistic timeline for robots taking over certain jobs? Like, should today’s college freshmen worry about having to compete with robots by the time they graduate?
I know that Japan, a robotics leader, faces a shrinking workforce and an aging population, and they’re looking to staff shops, hotels, nursing homes, and more with robots. Robots could threaten human employment, but are there are some situations where a large robot workforce might do some good?
Will robots actually replace humans, or could humans work aside them, too? There are probably some jobs robots could do completely by themselves, but maybe there are others where some human supervision or support is preferred. Can I be coworkers with a robot? Thank you for joining us!
