Tidal’s original company Aspiro is based in Norway, so hometown advantage. Then Variety can have some nice music biz coverage, but a trade publication like that isn’t where I’d expect this kind of investigative work into a music streaming companies. Not that I wouldn’t welcome it.
Lot of good questions here, but one basic thing is that YouTube Music and YouTube are interconnected and you can’t do something in one without effecting the other.
