Blue Origin Reminds Everyone It Has a Big Rocket Too

Source: YouTube/Blue Origin

Hey guys, we know that SpaceX is doing some pretty big things right now, like trying to shuttle passengers around the moon, and sending deadly pathogens into space, but Blue Origin is still cool, okay?? As it reminded us this week, the company has built some pretty big engines for its upcoming New Glenn rocket, which will be one of the largest in the world once it’s completed.

At long last, Blue Origin has unveiled a minute-and-a-half-long animation debuting this mysterious rocket, which is definitely not in any way an attempt to show that SpaceX isn’t the only player in the race. It’s definitely just a coincidence that Blue Origin waited until SpaceX’s shining moment to show us their shiny new rocket.

The video simply depicts the New Glenn launching and landing on a barge, which, again, bears no relation to the similar videos of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 doing the same thing. The important thing here is that the New Glenn will be bigger, you see??? Okay???

While Blue Origin has launched its New Shepherd rocket several times on land—and was actually the first to do so with a reusable rocket—in this dick measuring contest, the winner is the biggest, and there can only be one. Your move, Musk.

I don’t understand why Musk groupies like to constantly shit all over Blue Origin. No, of course they aren’t neck-and-neck in the commercial space race, and SpaceX is undeniably ahead in development and market capture. But they are a legit rocket company too, just with a different development timeline and market goals than SpaceX.

Seriously, competition is GOOD for this industry. Elon Musk isn’t the second coming of Jesus.
