About the role

Lifehacker, G/O Media's lifestyle site with 14 million monthly users, is looking for a travel writer to join our team. 

You are a quick-witted writer with a strong voice who geeks out on the tips and tricks and hacks of travel, both international and domestic. Whether you’ve figured out the fastest way to get through TSA or know the secrets to finding the latest super-low airfare, you yearn to share these insights with a like-minded audience. You strive to optimize every aspect of your travel experience; you have passionate feelings about mileage rewards programs; you believe you can overcome even the worst jet lag with a multi-tiered strategy that you’re still working out. You just might be able to get a hotel upgrade using nothing more than a cache of expired TWA miles and a roll of masking tape, and, even better you can explain in detail how to do it. 

You should

  • Have at least 2 years of experience writing for a fast-paced online publication, preferably travel-related.
  • Be capable of turning around stories ranging from news blogs to longer features at a quick pace;
  • Be comfortable working across mediums, including video and podcasts;
  • Be eager to brainstorm about how to expand Lifehacker’s coverage, and to work in a fun, collaborative environment.
