Arggh! there goes a...snake a snake!

Can anyone recommend the Canon Powershot SD890 or maybe another point and shoot with similar features? I've been looking to get a new point and shoot and it seems reviews are all over the place and as a camera noob I'm not sure what specs to consider. I'm just looking for a decent point and shoot. I don't need a lot of manual controls and HD video would be a nice thing to have.
