It may look the same, but iOS 8.1 is shoving some major new additions into your pocket—the most anticipated of which is, of course, Apple Pay. So backup all your goodies, because you can officially download the new update in iTunes right now.
The easiest way to get the new update is straight onto your phone. Just go to Settings > General > Software Update, and you should see the option to download iOS 8.1 waiting for you. If it hasn't hit your phone yet, you can also head straight to the iTunes store.
And even though it's only Apple Pays first day, over 500 partners have already jumped on board, so if you want to test it out, you shouldn't have to go too far to find a participating retailer. In addition to the new mobile payment system, iOS 8.1 adds some Continuity features that we have yet to see, like SMS relay (you'll need a Mac running Yosemite) and Instant Hotspot. Not to mention that our beloved Camera Roll has finally come back to us—we missed you, buddy.
