The latest item in Google's shopping spree is Agnilux, a small and somewhat mysterious startup full of former Apple, TiVo, and P.A. Semi employees. Few details are available about the acquisition, but it looks like a good deal for Google.

Supposedly Agnilux has been working on some kind of server hardware—most likely a chip—and Google of course has plenty of interest in that. And even if the details about Agnilux's projects aren't entirely accurate, Google's still getting a ton of fresh talent with this acquisition. [peHUB via CNET via Engadget]

At what point is too much, too much? Their core business and the bulk of their revenue comes from search, although I suppose this purchase is loosely is related. How many of these companies can they buy and absorb without becoming bloated and fractured?

From search, to phones, to energy, broadband, and God knows what else that I can't instantly recall now...sheesh.
