One of the more stunning space-shots we've seen in some time, this photograph of a JAXA HTV-4 spacecraft was taken from the ISS during the delivery vehicle's return to Earth. Strange to think how the most otherworldly photographs are often of our home planet. Keep scrolling for the full image, with details from Mika McKinnon.
Last year, the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) carried cargo to the ISS using their HTV-4 spacecraft. To return the favour, a stationary camera on the ISS captured this awe-inspiring photograph of HTV-4 returning to Earth.
HTV-4 was launched on August 4th, 2013, and stayed docked to the International Space Station until September 4th. This photograph is taken during Earth re-entry on September 7th, and was highlighted as part of #LiveFromSpace on March 14th.
