Not too long ago, I asked you to help me dive into the world of unconventional, strange, and often horrible computer pointing devices. Some of them have very specialized purposes. Some of them are just dumb. Here are 13 of the weirdest.

1. The Open Office Mouse

Found by live2skico2:

only 1 or 2 buttons - pfft! Moar buttons the better - right?

2. The "Sexy" Mouse

Found by Godwolf:

"Let's get freaky"

This ones for you Eric

3. The Phone Mouse

Found by yours truly:

I...just....what. It.....huh?

4. Zalman FPSGUN

Found by AnxiousLogic is a contrarian:

for its radically unconventional design

5. 3D Connexion Space Navigator

Found by Mifune:

It allows for twist, push, pull, and directional X-Y movements. It's a very useful device for manipulating 3d objects— manipulating 3D models with a 2 axis mouse is infuriating.

6. The Logitech Cyberman

Found by JZatopa:

The Logitech Cyberman was one of the wierdest mouses I ever used. It had force feedback but it's limited X-Y axis could really mess things up sometimes.

7. This weird thing

Found by Mark Duckworth:

I had one of these many years ago. It seemed like such a good idea, but it was an epic pile of dung.

8. The Novint Falcon

Found by kernow:

A 3D force feedback mouse for gamers.

9. The Genius Ring Mouse

Found by yours truly:

10. This weird finger thing

Found by EdwardWedig:

Actually, this one worked pretty well. Allowed me to type and write, without taking a bunch of space for mouse+pad.

11. Another weird loopy one

Found by IAmALeafOnTheWind:

I used this with my HTPC for awhile.

12. Spaceorb 360

Found by mwhite66:

We had one of these in a lab where I worked. [We worked on] an early attempt at Virtual Reality back in the '90s. We used this to navigate through the virtual space.

13. Swiftpoint Mouse
