Well that didn't take long! iOS 4.3 beta was just released late yesterday, and already there's an unofficial PwnageTool release that will let you jailbreak to your heart's content. Pretty soon the jailbreak's going to happen before the firmware release.
Is there a connection between the relative security of a device and how quickly a "hacker" can jailbreak it? This isn't a flame debate but an honest question. It seems that the iPhone is broken with relative ease and always has been. Is that because Apple secretly wants everyone to break into it or because they are not able to properly secure it? I assume it has more to do with lack of concern than anything else and there is not a direct correlation, but I wonder if a security expert in our ranks could speak to this.
